For more than two decades, Big Day at the Lake has united the Lake Norman community around a simple yet powerful mission: creating life-changing experiences for children while supporting the mentoring programs of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Carolinas. Each year, hundreds of volunteer boat hosts, sponsors, businesses, and community partners come together to provide "Littles" with an unforgettable day on beautiful Lake Norman—many experiencing boating, fishing, tubing, and time on the water for the very first time.

More than just a day of fun, Big Day at the Lake serves as one of the organization's premier fundraising events, helping generate critical financial support for mentoring programs that empower children to reach their full potential. Since its inception, the event has raised more than $1.3 million while increasing awareness of the lasting impact a caring mentor can have on a child's life.
