Join us for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of Angels & Sparrows’ new Resource Center! Food insecure families need more than just food. The Resource Center will be home to Angels & Sparrows’ Pathway Tutoring & Education Program. The program will increase the overall food security of the low-income families we serve by combining current feeding programs with access to foundational education programs, career training, and mentoring to ensure that adults who are currently unable to enter the labor market due to lack of a high school diploma or who are non-English speaking can seek a career path that provides a livable wage income. Childcare is often a stumbling block for parents who would otherwise seek higher education. Children will receive high-quality tutoring that takes place simultaneous to the adult education classes, ensuring childcare is not an issue while also bridging the achievement gap inherent to low-income families Light breakfast will be served.
