Lake Norman Chamber recognizes NuBlue Electric, Plumbing and Air with the 2025 “Inspire our Future Award”

The Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce has recognized NuBlue Electric, Plumbing and Air in Cornelius for their outstanding continuous support of education and workforce development with the “Inspire our Future” award. Recognized from NuBlue Electric, Plumbing and Air was Austin Helms, Founding Partner.
The award was presented at NorthStone Country Club as part of the Chamber’s recognition of local educators with a presentation by Brett Fansler - Executive Director for Corporate Engagement at Central Piedmont Community College. The event was Presented by Atrium Health and sponsored by Business Today – Cornelius Today, Hometrust Bank and WSIC.
2025 Chamber Board Chair Brian Sisson presented the award along with Brandi Jones and Melinda Bales, Co-chairs of the Chamber’s Education Collaborative. Bill Russell, President & CEO of the Chamber, told the business and community leaders present that NuBlue has set the gold standard for what it means to be a true education partner. Through their unwavering commitment to the PIVOT Internship Program, formerly launched with Lake Norman Economic Development, they have opened doors for countless students to explore careers in skilled trades.
Their investment in upskilling and training programs has not only fueled the next generation of workforce talent but their dedication goes beyond just business success—they are redefining the trades industry by creating pathways for students to enter lucrative careers in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical work. Their hands-on approach to mentorship and their focus on employee ownership through programs like ZoomUp Investments demonstrate their vision for sustainable growth and community impact.
Russell stated, “From empowering young professionals with real-world experience to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship, they embody the spirit of this award. They are not just building businesses—they are building futures”.
