Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce Honors Local Public Safety Officers
Luncheon Presented by Wells Fargo held at Northstone Country Club October 21, 2021
The Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce saluted the men and women who work tirelessly to protect and serve the families and businesses of the Lake Norman region at a Public Safety Luncheon held at Northstone Country Club in Huntersville. The nineteenth annual event was emceed by Chamber president Bill Russell, who spoke to the critical role the police, fire, and first responders play in making the Lake Norman community a great place to live, work, and visit. Russell, and 2022 Chamber Board Chair elect David Keith, presented awards along with Mayors Aneralla (Huntersville), Washam (Cornelius) and Knox (Davidson) to the most outstanding officer from each North Mecklenburg department, selected by their respective chief.
The awards program was presented by Wells Fargo Bank and sponsored by Lake Norman Media Group and FirstNet Built by AT&T.
The Lake Norman Chamber Public Service Award recipients for 2021 included: Corporal Bradley Nichols - Cornelius Police Department, Corporal Anthony Better - Davidson Police Department, Officer Gavin Aron- Huntersville Police Department, Firefighter Mel Kelly - Cornelius Lemley Fire Department, Captain Alex Harris - Davidson Fire Department, and Firefighter /EMT Koppy Williams - Huntersville Fire Department.
