Leslie Reid joins Chamber as Vice President Investor Relations and Development

The Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce has hired Leslie Reid of Mooresville, NC as the new Vice President Investor Relations and Development. Leslie, whose first official day was Tuesday, January 3, 2023, began the day with the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting for the Cain Center for the Arts, the Lake Norman region's new regional arts center located in Cornelius.

Sylvia Spury, Executive Vice President, retired December 15th from the chamber after serving for almost three decades in a staff role with three different chambers of commerce. Laura Rizzetta, who was hired in February 2022 will assume the role of Executive Vice President.

Leslie is a graduate of The University of Georgia with a BFA in Interior Design, finishing her degree in Cortona, Italy in Commercial Design.  She has 22 years of Interior Design experience, owning her own business for 12 years.  She opened a retail shop in Cornelius in 2001 where, as a small business owner, saw the value of being a part of the chamber and served as an ambassador.

In 2012, she joined Pet Pilgrimage Crematory and Memorials as Director, serving families as they navigate the grief of losing their family pet. She was involved in organizing and participating in numerous pet events to raise money for community rescues. In 2018 she was chosen to be Education Chairman of Pet Loss Professionals Alliance, an international organization designed to educate and encourage elevated standards for the pet loss industry.  Joining the Lake Norman Chamber in 2016 with Pet Pilgrimage, she is a graduate of the Lake Norman Leadership Class of 2016-2017.  She also served as a Chamber Ambassador from 2019-2020.

Leslie has served on the Board of Directors for the Mooresville Chamber of Commerce from 2018-2020 and participated in the Mooresville Leadership Class of 2014. She also attended the Leadership Class in 2018 for the Statesville Chamber of Commerce.  

In her role as Investor Relations and Development, she will work directly with member businesses scheduling ribbon cuttings and ground breakings, business mixers and networking events, as well as coordinating professional development programs.
