Education PowerLuncheon to Feature Dean of Education UNC Charlotte - Dr Malcolm Butler

Dr. Malcolm B. Butler, PhD | Dean and Professor Affiliate Faculty Member, Department of Africana Studies at UNC Charlotte will be the featured speaker at the Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce Annual Education Luncheon Thursday, February 16, 2023 11:45am until 1:15pm at Northstone Country Club 15801 Northstone Drive in Huntersville.
At that meeting, the Chamber will also present the Outstanding Educator for Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools (CMS), Charter Schools, and Private Schools along with the “Inspire our Future” Award to the Lake Norman business or corporation that promotes career placement and vocational education.
The cost to attend the luncheon is $35 per person and the program is presented by Atrium Health. Supporting Sponsors include the Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce Foundation, and Business Today / Cornelius Today.

Dr. Malcolm B. Butler is Professor and Dean of the Cato College of Education at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Butler earned a BS in in Physics from Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He also completed an MEd and PhD in Curriculum and Instruction (Science Education) at the University of Florida.
Butler has taught and learned mathematics, science and life from elementary, middle, and high school students, as well as college students. He is married to Rev. Dr. Vikki Gaskin-Butler, and they have one son, Malcolm Lee Butler.
