Focus Friday - John Marrino, Olde Meck Brewery

Description

John Marrino, President and Owner Olde Mecklenburg Brewery Starting and growing a business while navigating municipal and state laws. OMB Charlotte Born & Brewed, Est. 2009

At OMB, our unwavering commitment to fresh, pure, premium quality beer isn’t just a marketing slogan. It’s our way of life. Beer is like bread – similar ingredients, same need to be served as fresh as possible. As OMB’s founder says, “Not everything can be made local, but beer can and should be. Local beer is fresh beer, and fresh beer is better beer.”

OMB also strictly adheres to the oldest beer purity law in the world – the renowned German “Reinheitsgebot” which states that beer should only contain 4 ingredients: water, malt, hops and yeast. So that’s all we use at OMB – no wacky flavors, cheap ingredients, or added colors, and absolutely, positively NO SHORTCUTS. This commitment to purity extends to our packaging materials (glass and BPA-free cans) and traditional brewing methods. If you want to brew world-class beer, you’ve got to use the best ingredients and sweat the details; and you can’t let time or money get in the way.

Our goal is to do whatever it takes to deliver the highest quality, freshest beer imaginable to the Carolinas. You can call us control freaks. You can call us obsessed. You’d be right on both counts. But when you taste our beer, we think you’ll agree that it’s totally worth it. Prost!
