Join the Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce as we celebrate the official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Wellness MD, Counseling & Acupuncture, Friday - January 9, 2026 - 10 AM to 11 AM We invite our members, ambassadors, local officials and the community to help us welcome this new business into the Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce and show support as they begin their exciting journey with us.

Acupuncture and Wellness MD 

Acupuncture & Wellness MD is a comprehensive integrative health practice in Huntersville, North Carolina, founded by board-certified neurologist and medical acupuncturist Lori Schneider, MD. Drawing on over three decades of neurology experience, Dr. Schneider offers a unique blend of traditional and modern therapies designed to support whole-person wellness. The center’s services range from body, scalp, ear (auricular), and electroacupuncture for pain, stress, neurological issues, or chronic conditions — to natural weight-loss programs, metabolic and cardio-metabolic health assessments (via TM Flow testing), tailored natural supplement plans, and supportive mental-health counseling by licensed therapist Mary Jane McGill, LCMHCS, LCAS, CCS. Acupuncture & Wellness MD prioritizes individualized care, giving patients time, compassion, and multiple treatment modalities — from non-pharmacologic pain relief (like the military-derived Battlefield Acupuncture) to lifestyle and neurological support — all under one roof. With a private-pay model, the practice emphasizes freedom from insurance constraints, allowing therapies guided by need rather than coverage, with detailed superbills available for potential out-of-network reimbursement.


Solutions Behavioral Health Services and Consultation

Mary Jane McGill, LCMHC-S, LCAS, CCS is the CEO and Clinical Director of Solutions. She has provided counseling individualized counseling services including services for Older Adults, Adults and Adolescents who are experiencing grief, depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, and substance use disorders. We also provide educational services for the community on various topics including Women’s Empowerment, coping with a Loved One with Addiction, Mental Health or Gambling Issues, Learning about Different Cultures, and more. Solutions works with medical acupuncturist Lori Schneider, MD to provide support for those with depression, anxiety, trauma, and substance use disorders. We are continuing to expand our practice to include gambling treatment.

Solutions also provides consultation services including clinical supervision for CADC/LCAS/CCS and LCMHC, trainings for counselors and businesses, assistance with new program start-ups and preparing for CARF accreditation. Our training courses are on various topics such as HIPAA and 42CFR Part2 Confidentiality, Dealing with Difficult Clients, Motivational Interviewing, Facilitating Groups, Cultural Diversity and Warning Signs of Substance Use or Gambling Problems.
