Focus Friday: 25th Anniversary 9/11 Remembrance

Friday, September 11 | 8:30 AM – 1:30 PM

Twenty-five years after the events of September 11, 2001, we invite our community to come together for a day of remembrance, reflection, and gratitude as we honor the lives lost, recognize the extraordinary courage of our first responders, and remember the resilience that united our nation.

The day will begin at 8:30 AM with the Cornelius Fire Department's 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony at Fire Station No. 1, where members of the community will gather to pay tribute to the victims, heroes, and families whose lives were forever changed.

Following the ceremony, join us at the Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce for a special Focus Friday Lunch & Learn from Noon – 1:30 PM. This powerful discussion will feature community members whose lives were directly impacted by September 11, sharing personal experiences, reflections, and lessons on leadership, courage, service, and the enduring strength of the American spirit.

This special 25th Anniversary observance offers an opportunity not only to remember where we were that day, but also to reflect on how those events shaped our communities, our country, and our commitment to one another.

We invite Chamber members, business professionals, first responders, elected officials, veterans, students, and residents from across the Lake Norman region to join us as we honor the past, recognize those who continue to serve, and reaffirm the values of unity, resilience, and hope that define our community.

About Focus Friday

Focus Friday is the Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce's premier public policy and community leadership series, bringing together business leaders, elected officials, subject matter experts, and residents to discuss the issues shaping our region. Each monthly program explores topics such as economic development, public safety, education, transportation, healthcare, and legislative affairs through informative presentations and engaging panel discussions.

Presented by Novant Health Huntersville Medical Center and sponsored by Business Today and WSIC 105.9 FM, Focus Friday provides a welcoming forum for meaningful conversation and informed civic engagement. While designed for Lake Norman Chamber members and community leaders, guests are always welcome to attend.
